Eight-ball is a cue sport performed on an oblong desk with six pockets alongside the rails, into which balls are deposited. The sport is performed with sixteen balls: a white cue ball and fifteen object balls, consisting of seven striped balls, seven solid-colored balls, and a black ball. The target of the sport is to pocket all the balls of 1’s assigned group (both solids or stripes) after which pocket the black ball.
